Vets Golf Tuesdays

Tuesday Vet's 2015

Callala and St Georges Basin Vet’s Golf Trophy
A great day was held at St Georges Basin Golf Club on Monday
6th July when the Basin Vets hosted the return match for the coveted Trophy.
The team from Callala ventured down to the St Georges Basin
Golf Club to challenge them for the honour of who got to display the trophy at their club as victors for the next 12 mths.
Callala had the advantage of arriving with a lead of 36 points which was achieved when the Basin Vet’s played Callala at Callala golf course earlier this year.
The Callala team was made up of eleven dedicated club
members:- Bob Bell, Graham Mitchell, Garry Donovan, Doug Ingle (Captain), John Latta, Col Chessell, Bill and Carmel Downton, Jamie Reardon (President), Graham Lewington and Barry Whitlock.
The Basin team took full advantage of home course advantage
in beating Callala by 25 points and although a gallant effort 25 from 36 left saw The Callala Team with big smiles on their faces as they set off back to Callala with the coveted trophy in hand for the next 12 mths.
St Georges Basin Vet’s were humble in defeat but assured
Callala that the tables would be turned next year.
Callala Vet’s would like to thank St Georges Basin Vet’s for
putting on a very enjoyable day with great friendship and a fabulous BBQ lunch
to boot.

Saturday Men's Golf

Saturday 11th July 2015

New winter starting time of 0800hrs greeted today’s competitors with early sunshine which is much welcomed change from the cloud and rain that we have been experiencing of late.

Play took place on the wet weather course with single stableford as the format.

Today saw a smaller than normal field of talented players pitting their skills against other enthusiastic players for the right to take the top spots on offer in today’s competition.

Today’s winner fresh from his Monthly Medal win at Tuesdays
vets was David Brumby who is obviously employing those same skills and talents of Tuesday to show the rest of today’s field how good consistent golf should be played.

Great to see you back to good form Dave and congratulations
on your well earned top dog spot for today’s competition.

Also coming back into good form with the sticks is today’s runner up, Jamie Reardon who as with Dave employed good consistent golf to take his place on the Podium.

Congratulations Jamie and it is good to see your good form
returning just in time for club playoffs which will begin as of next week.

Congratulations also to Richard Clarke coming in just one
behind Jamie into third place.

Thank you to Carmel Downton and Helen Clarke for gracing us
with their presence today and although not in the winner’s circle this week played some great golf to keep the boys honest. Well done ladies.

Nearest the Pins:- 1st Hole Barry Whitlock and 6th Hole Garry Donovan who also was the only player today to score a birdie, well done Garry.

Raffle winners:- Barry Faulkner and Harold Reynolds

Ball Run Down:-
R. Clarke, H. Reynolds, B. Whitlock, D. Ingle, C. Chessell, G. Donovan,G. Hughes, B. Downton and W. Minns.
