Single Stableford was the format for a great day of golf that was enjoyed by a fair
field of keen and enthusiastic players.
Not only a great day of golf but also a special day for Bob Plunkett who not only scored an impressive 41 points to ensure he entered the winner’s circle as runnerup. To top off his success on the day, he also got to celebrate his Birthday;
Happy Birthday Bob and well done with your golf.
Also celebrating a special day was our Treasurer, Wayne Campbell, who I am told will be celebrating his day with family tomorrow. Wayne also had a good day with the sticks but even though not good enough for the winner’s circle he remarked that he was very happy with his game. Happy Birthday for tomorrow, Wayne and we hope the family spoil you rotten.
The big surprise of the day was the return of Legend, Jamie Reardon, to the winnersare grinners club.
Jamie,up until recently had been your every day golfer like 98% of the rest of us.
Jamie arrived with great fan fare a few weeks ago with an amazing 46 points which ensured that he immediately attained lots of attention and Legend status.
With the arrival of these seldom days of stardom everyone thought that it would be a while before Jamie managed another such score but here we have him back this time with another impressive score, this time coming home to take the winner’s trophy with 44 points.
As if he had not gained enough attention he
then proceeded to take out one of the raffle prizes to the “You’re joking” from the players. No wonder he had such a big grin on his face!
A great effort Jamie but don’t go getting too comfortable with your newly attained status as I am sure the man at GolfLink will be taking special notice
of your new found abilities and will take the dicapper’s equalizer to your current handicap.
Coming in at third spot was Mick Inness (no photo as he had to leave early) with 40 points; beating both Barry Whitlock and Perry Cousins on the deadly count back.
Congratulations Mick and also to Barry and Perry on attaining a very respectable 40 points as well, and commiserations on the count back.
